In Ten Chairs, Carl and Hoodsey go to his stand. He reiterates their response of wanting to buy a live turkey. Carl says that is correct. Hoodsey chimes in and says they still want a side of butter nut squash. Mr. Talbit asks them who is going to prepare the turkey for cooking. Carl says they are not going to prepare the turkey but instead let it live. Hoodsey responds by saying that bird is going to have a life free of man's oppression.
Carl goes on to say the pilgrims barely survived the first year of Plymouth colony. He says they weren't themselves when they targeted the original turkey. Hoodsey says a better pilgrim would've made soy loaf or something. Carl says it's up to them to change the world even if they have to do it one turkey at a time. Mr. Talbit says he's got the right bird for them.
