Macie Lightfoot (voiced by Jackie Harris) is one of Ginger's best friends. Though highly intelligent, the lack of parental guidance (which borders on neglect) causes Macie to be shy and awkward in public.

History[]

Macie and Dodie were friends before meeting Ginger in the second grade; they become fast friends and remain a steady trio into adulthood.

In Come Back Little Seal Girl, Macie, Dodie, and Ginger agree to do a skit devoted to The Little Seal Girl (their childhood heroine), for the school talent show. When Dodie and Ginger back out because they believe it's too juvenile, Macie goes solo, explaining that her friends are betraying her and the Seal Girl they've lived by for their whole lives. She ends up winning the talent show.

In Family Therapy, Macie's parents forget about her 13th birthday and, to make it up to her, buy her a swing set (along with other children's toys), which she is years beyond, but still thinks it is an amazing gift because her parents acknowledged her birthday. Ginger comments on it, suggesting that Macie set them straight, to which Macie responds that it is none of her business. However, Macie eventually learns that it is time to grow up.

Friends 'til the end - adult Macie and Dodie.

She is last seen in the series finale as part of the group that has turned out for Ginger's book reading. Her appearance doesn't change much, except that she appears to be taller and more mature. There is fan speculation that she marries Robert Joseph (better known as Hoodsey).

Personality[]

Macie is in a constant state of panic, as she is allergic to everything and fears change. She is portrayed as the "geek" in the group, and is very knowledgeable on quite an array of subjects. Macie is incredibly childish, most likely due to her absentee parents who are not there to help her through the various stages of adolescence. As such, she is ill-prepared for high school.

Appearance[]

Macie's hair color is grayish-green. She has buckteeth. Macie dons short hair. Although she wears numerous outfits throughout the series, she has signature outfit. This includes a yellow long-sleeved shirt, a red plaid skirt with green tights, brown shoes and blue squared glasses similar to Chuckie Finster’s glasses from Rugrats (another created cartoon) only his glasses are purple.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Roberta Lightfoot: Her mother works a lot and doesn't have much time for. In Family Therapy, she and her husband saw the error of the ways and started to spend time with her. She appeared at Macie's graduation in Butterflies Are Free.

In Gym Class Confidential, Macie was afraid that watching the puberty video would lead to her being apart from her friends. Ginger comforted her in the bathroom and they both hugged it out.

Dodie BishopShe is also one of her friends. Macie usually sides with Ginger whenever Dodie's ego gets in the way. They enjoy each others company. In Kiss Today Goodbye, they both had an engaging conversation.

Darren PattersonHe is one of her friends. In The Right Stuff, she teamed up with Darren to play chicken at her pool party. Her friendship with him is very good.

Teachers[]

Ms. ZorskiShe is in her homeroom class. When she complemented how Macie looks like her aunt Bridget, she gave her a friendly pinch on her cheek. This indicates that they have a good student-teacher relationship.

Mr. CiliaHe assigned her to pair up with Miranda in The 'A' Ticket. She is a good student in his chemistry class.

Romance[]

Hoodsey Bishop: In Piece of My Heart, he gave her a secret admirer letter inviting her to the dance. He didn't reveal who he was in the letter. They meet up at the dance and they share some dances together. Hoodsey had to go back and forth because he was helping Carl and Blake. In the epilogue of The Wedding Frame, she is seen sitting next to him which could imply that they are married.

Andrew StarlingThey had brief relationship after Courtney set Andrew up with her after the events in Butterflies Are Free. However, the magic wore off and she decided to break up with him in Kiss Today Goodbye. She had a difficult time of trying to tell him. Eventually, she decided to let the superintendent inadvertently read her break up note in front of the student body at the football game.
